What is Marinero?
A fun, fast way to learn recreational sailing — the boat, knots, wind, weather, and safety — through short cards across ten modules. It’s built for people about to join a charter or crew a boat who want to actually be useful, not sit an exam.
How does a module work?
Each section runs Learn → Practice → Master. Learn walks you through the cards. Practice checks you with multiple choice — pass 80% to unlock Master. Master asks you to recall the answer from scratch and earns XP. As you gain XP you rise from Turista toward Capitán.
Do I need to sign up?
Yes — a free account saves your progress across devices. You can sign up with email or with Google.

What’s free?
A genuine taste of the real thing: you can play the first section of the early modules end-to-end (Learn, Practice, and Master, earning XP), plus browse the free explore tools and knot guides on this site.
What is Capitán, and what does it cost?
Capitán is the full unlock — every section of all ten modules. It’s a one-time €34.99, not a subscription. Pay once, it’s yours on your account for as long as we run the app.
How do I pay, and when do I get access?
Checkout is handled securely by Stripe. The moment your payment goes through, your account unlocks automatically — on whatever device you’re signed in on. No codes to enter.
I paid but nothing unlocked.
Give it a few seconds — it syncs automatically. If it still hasn’t unlocked, make sure you’re signed in to the same account you paid with, then email us and we’ll sort it.
Using the app
Can I install it and use it offline?
Yes. Open the app in your browser and use “Add to Home Screen” to install it like an app. Once you’ve opened your cards online, they’re cached so you can keep learning with no signal — your progress syncs the next time you’re back on wifi.
What’s “Night watch”?
A red-shifted, dimmed mode that protects your night vision — handy for a 2am watch. Toggle it in the account menu.
How do I reset my progress?
Account menu → Reset stats. It clears your XP, mastery, and scores. It can’t be undone.

How do I change my password?
Account menu → Email & password sends a reset link to your email.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account and all its data from Settings in the app. It’s permanent. See our Privacy Policy for what that removes.
